Lizzie’s Summer of Cycling

MWCC rider Lizzie Stannard has penned an update from her summer of cycling. Racing at NRS level, Lizzie finished 4th at the U23 National Championships. This summer she raced Tour Down Under, Race Melbourne, Cadel’s Great Ocean Road Race, Gravel & Tar La Femme and the Herald Sun Tour. Read on to hear about her adventures.

Women’s Racing – Taking Over The Roads

The Sydney Women’s racing scene is continuing to add new events to the calendar and so with half yearly memberships available via Cycling Australia, there has never been a better time to join a club and get racing. On June 21 MWCC will have two women’s grades racing along West Head and NSCC have a Women’s and Junior racing day on July 5th. The Roar of June 21 Akuna West Head RR

The demand and scale of the Akuna West Head Road Race continues to grow. Riders from all over Sydney come to challenge themselves on this testing course which favours the brave, the tactical and the strong. This month we will have two women’s grades covering the course which will result in high demand for any available spots not just on the podium – but just getting an entry into the battle.  Continue reading

Canberra Women’s Tour Wrap Up

Lynne Clarke (A grade), Alex Green and Jen Bullock (B grade) recently represented Manly Warringah in the Peter Blackshaw Canberra Women’s Tour. This consisted of 4 races over 2 days – two road races, an individual time trial and criterium. There were around 65 women competing across two grades from NSW, ACT, QLD, VIC and NZ including some of the best female riders from around the country.
