NSCC are spicing up their criterium format with a teams race this Sunday – but don’t worry about forming a team – they will be doing it for you at registration. This should offer a point of difference to their racing and so it should be a great chance to head along and participate.

Ever wanted to race in another team but can’t bear to leave your mates? Well at Beauie this Sunday, you can race in another team but your mates won’t hate you because it’s only for one race.

Also for those racers who bombed at Coota because they couldn’t contest the sprint finish – Beauie is the perfect race to hone those fast twitch muscles, so that next opens race you’ll be powering home like Cav and Kittel.

This Sunday Beauie changes format to a criterium teams race. Teams will be allocated within each grade – and riders will be randomly put into team. This is a chance to race in a team with riders from other clubs and maybe your own, as each team has to work together to get their strongest rider over the line first.

Prize money will be awarded to the whole team, so this is a great chance to work for each other with lead outs breakaways etc, as the whole team will share the spoils.

With many riders returning from smashing themselves in Coota this past weekend, there will be a very strong and revved-up field at this Sunday’s Beauie. Given the enormous popularity of Beauie this year, please arrive early for registration, from approx 7.30pm. We will allocate the teams before the start of each grade and you will be able to clearly identify your new best friends in your team through coloured armbands.

Registration from 7.30am and racing starts at 8.20 – address for newbies is Beaumont Road Mt Ku-Ring-Gai. Entry is $15 with a Gold CA licence.

The hairpin turn arounds sap your legs

This is a great racing initiative and should also open up for a real varied race within each of the grades, with the potential for breaks to get away. Will you nominate yourself as the breakaway specialist? The protected sprinter or the workhorse domestique?

MWCC is always well represented at NSCC racing, so get along and take the money on offer.
