What a day for our Mobius Bridgelane team with U/23 rider Alex Evans finishing second on the stage behind Mitchelton Scott rider Esteban Chaves at the UCI 2.1 rated Herald Sun Tour. This has been a supremely successful Tour for the Team, who has also collected the Most Aggressive Rider jersey with Alistair Donoghue.

Chaves attacked 2km from the bottom of the 20km stage-ending ascent to Lake Mountain and opened up a gap that wouldn’t be closed down. Alex Evans (Mobius BridgeLane) followed solo and would cross the line in second place, 42 seconds behind, while Ruben Guerreiro (Trek-Segafredo) won the sprint from an elite chase group of 13 riders, including three from Mitchelton-Scott.

To be sandwiched between two World Tour riders on the podium and one a GC contender, it will only be the beginning for Alex Evans. Brad Evans (no relation)  also regained the Tour KOM leaders jersey.

By the end of the Tour Alex Evans would finish 8th overall in GC.
