Christmas Crit – Sunday 23rd December

Christmas arrives early with MWCC putting on a Christmas Eve eve criterium race, Sunday 23 December!

This one-off extravaganza of biblical proportions will take place at the HART Driver Training Centre, St Ives. Club President Jim Buda, couldn’t think of a better gift to his club members and riders from all over Sydney than a one off Christmas crit – the Three Wise Men did not deliver a gift this good.

We realise that riders will need to organise one final leave pass for the year in order to participate in this eagerly anticipated race. To help with the selling of this proposal to respective partners and to have you home in time to wrap the presents and get to the shops for those last minute gifts – racing will start at 6:50am

We realise that it is an early start for a Sunday morning, however we must be off the track by no later than 8am. That means riders can sign on from 6:20am, with the course open for warm up laps from 6:30am. Sign on will close at 6:45am. To help you keep an eye on the clock and to help those who can’t read the time – the races are being sponsored and presented by Easy Read Time Teacher Clocks.

On the day we will be offering grades A-C. We consider that most of our D Grade riders will be able to step up into the C grade, due to the lack of hills and the short loop nature of the course. All grades will be starting at 6:50am.

A Grade will race for 50 minutes plus one lap

B Grade 45 minutes plus one lap

C Grade 40 minutes plus one lap

Essential Details:

$15 Entry – with a 2012/2013 Gold licence

One day licences are available for $30 if you don’t have a GOLD racing licence

Race Date: 23 December 2012

Sign on from 6:20am and Race Start 6:50am – H.A.R.T Sydney 451 Mona Vale Road St Ives, NSW 2075

Grades A-C – All clubs and riders welcome.

Crit racing is a great opportunity for beginners to give racing a go, because of the multi loop nature of the course – if you get into any difficulty or get dropped off the back, you don’t have far to ride on your own.

It is time to seize the moment. Time to act on all of those requests for a Sunday crit race.

Never be late for a group ride again and teach your children the time by going to www.easyreadtimeteacher.com

As always we will also have vouchers from our sponsor The Fixed Wheel – they keep Sydney rolling. www.thefixedwheel.com.au

    Great idea. Thanks Santa Jim.
Good to see a bit more length than the usual Friday sprint.
