With the last two months cancelled, will we finally get to pin on a number? The roads are beckoning and this will be our final road race for 2013, so get yourself an early Christmas present and get yourself to the start line on the 8 December.
Pre enter at – http://www.trybooking.com/EAAT (any race cancellations get a full refund)
A Grade will be completing 3 laps of West Head – that will result in close to 75 kilometres of racing on a rather undulating terrain.
B and C Grade have two options. The ‘Prestige’ division will race from the bottom of Akuna. If you don’t consider yourself a climber or are making a step up a grade, then you should consider the ‘Hubbard’ division – this will be a neutralised climb up Akuna, at a steady pace before the race commences as the riders turn into West Head. Both grades will complete two laps of West Head.
D Grade is a single lap of West Head. D Grade will be a neutral climb up the Akuna climb – this will ensure that all first timers and those not suited to the hilly terrain will sit in for this climb.
Be realistic of your ability – a number of riders continue to struggle on the course – perhaps hubbard would be a suitable change. Don’t just assume that you can get dropped from your race and then join in with the next grade coming past.
All riders must show a current 2013 or 2014 Gold Racing Licence and an approved Australian Standards Helmet at the sign on. Unfortunately we are no longer able to offer the one day licences – you must have a gold licence to race.
As usual our road race will be signing on from 7am for all grades down at the Akuna Bay Marina – pre entry is available until Friday 6 November 5pm if you don’t want to be getting to the start line at 7am. There is plenty of parking available in the car park and toilets available.
If you haven’t raced before but are considering it – our guide to entering may be of some assistance.http://www.manlywarringahcc.org.au/news/racing-how-to-enter-and-what-to-expect-a-beginners-guide/
Our race can send your heart rate rocketing from the roll out, so we do encourage riders to be warmed up and recommend that you consider parking around Terrey Hills and riding into the park, to ensure that you have had a good warm up prior to race start. Please be cautious on the descent down into the Park.
We would request that you do not park in the Elvina Walking Track car park – this not only assists our marshalls when they head up there to set up for the finish, but also assists with our relations with the National Parks. This also gives riders more room to hang around in post race.
Grades will commence racing from 7:30am down at the Akuna Bay Marina. Typical race times are as follows – A Grade roll out at 7:30am, B Grade 7:35, C Grade 7:45 and D Grade 7:50. The finish line will be at its usual place at Elvina Walking Track Carpark, West Head.

By pre registering, you are ensuring your entry and then on the day you will just turn up, sign the sheet and grab a number and not standing around in a long queue on race day.
To pre enter simply go to www.trybooking.com and search ‘MWCC’ in the events section. This will bring up all of the available grades or you can follow this link: http://www.trybooking.com/EAAT
Please note that our races are raced on open roads. This means that riders must not cross over the centre line during the race. This can lead to disqualification. Please consider your behaviour and actions when both riding to and from the race and also during the race. Your actions impact on all users of the Park and also our ability to gain approval for our races. Our officials often have to answer questions based on non club riders behaviour that occur at anytime – so lets not make ourselves a target.
