Due to weather and input from stakeholders this event has been cancelled for tomorrow and postponed to August 1. MWCC host the Subaru Cyclocross which will also be the 2015 NSW State Championship. It promises to be a huge day of racing and a great event for spectators, whether they are cheering on the kids or watching the elites do battle. All riders and spectators on the day will go into the draw to win a Cell Brunswick Cyclocross bike and that will only be part of the action on the day.
The Subaru Cyclocross series by MWCC is an action packed course that is constantly changing and so riders will never know what to expect until they turn up on the day. With the added benefit of a chance to pick up a NSW Champion medal, there is plenty to ride for. We will also have our ever popular free kids races which are suitable for all riders. This isn’t just a day for the elites but for all riders, so don’t be shy about entering. Remember that this round we are starting earlier than usual!
There are plenty of spot prizes including a CX Bike thanks to Cell Bikes that will keep you on your toes and potentially make it a very rewarding day for yourself. Riders can enter the event via www.trybooking.com/IGDK Get close and dirty, coffee by Allpress, BBQ by the RFS, an afternoon of race action for the whole family.
Simply head over to www.trybooking.com/IGDK and pre enter. This will allow you to not have to worry about fumbling around for money on the day, simply turn up and grab your racing number. The online entry system, also allows you to enter if you require a day licence. The online entries will close off at 5pm on Friday July 31. After that time, you will just be required to enter on the day with the entry priced at $25.
This month the racing and registration will open at 10:30am with the first round of racing being the Non Championship Event for both men and women at 11:30. This grade is open to all types of bikes whether it be a hybrid or a mountain bike.
MWCC is all about inclusion and so we have two free junior races on the day starting at 12:15pm. The kids will even pin on a race number to give them the whole race experience. Racing on a modified course, that always has them in sight, we have a race for Under 7 at 12:15pm and then a separate race for 7-12 year olds at 12:30pm. We have kids on tricycles, balance bikes, bmx bikes and mountain bikes. We don’t care about their ability or bike – we just want them out on course having fun. This opportunity is open to all children – their parents do not have to be members or racing themselves.
The location at JJ Melbourne Memorial Hills Reserve, Terrey Hills provides for plenty of viewing opportunities, with the riders regularly passing by the more popular viewing points.
