Long Weekends mean plenty of time on the bike and what better way to fill the weekend by pinning on a number and racing. On Easter Monday (21st April), the next round of the Beauie Worlds Criterium 2014 Series takes place.
The NSCC Beauie crits have been most popular for many years and have always been a prominent fixture on the racing scene – there is a reason it is known as ‘Beauie Worlds’. In 2014 the racing has been reinvigorated and it remains one of the premier Crit race in the Sydney metro area.
As opposed to the rolling hills of West Head, this flat and fast course, with its two u turns at either end of the course, ensure that this is one to get the lactic acid up and the sprinters excited with the fast run into the finish.
Due to the event’s popularity we’d encourage racers to rock up early to ensure you get a spot in your nominated grade. Riders from all over Sydney and the Central Coast are expected so if you’re up for it, come and have a go.
Registrations start at 7.45am with racing starting around 8:15am. Entry is $15 and you require a Gold Racing Licence to get a start.
For those racers who want a tune-up ahead of the open road race season, Beauie Worlds is THE event for you – hone those fast twitch muscles racing against Sydney’s (and the Central Coast’s) best riders and set yourself up for that sprint finish or breakaway in your next open road race.
NSCC expect to run four grades A-D; this Monday’s race is a scratch for each of the grades.
