This October long weekend Northern Sydney Cycling Club are determined to defeat the rain gods after the past three Beauie races have been cancelled.
On Monday 6th October, the NSCC Beauie Crit series returns to Beaumont Road with an exciting race format specifically designed for riders who are drivers not sprinters. The race format will be a grade handicap – each grade will start at different times with the aim of staying away from the higher grade, or catching the lower grade.
You have to get your group working together, if you wait for the faster bunches behind you, you are ensuring you won’t in the race.
If it is anything like the State Open handicaps, look for the MWCC riders to be driving the pack with the NSCC riders just sitting in and waiting to roll you on the line.
The handicap race format has been very popular and the past two handicaps have been won by D and C graders respectively.
So, park your plans to go to the beach or work in the garden on Monday, and get out to Beauie for a morning of fast hard race action.
Numbers will be limited to ensure we continue our record of safe racing – so get there early to register. Rego is also available online via the NSCC club webshop on their homepage.
Entry is $15 and will be open from 7.45am – remember to bring your licence as we cannot register anyone without proof of a race licence. No day licences available.
Racing starts just after 8am and you will be finished a bit after 9am.
There promises to be a good sized contingent from MWCC on the start line.
For newbies the address is Beaumont Road, Mt Ku-Ring-Gai
Will also use this post to plug the Eastern Suburbs weekly Tuesday night Heffron Park series commences 6pm October 7.
