CCCC & NSCC Races this weekend

MWCC riders looking to pin on a number this weekend have plenty of options and variety available to them – it is a festival of cycle racing. Central Coast CC are hosting a road race at Calga on Saturday and Northern Sydney CC have the Beaumont Road Crit races on Sunday morning. Read on for more details.

For those that aren’t ripping their legs off at Friday Night RAW Track at Dunc Grey Velodrome ($20 entry www.rawtrack.com.au) you may be looking for some more excitement for your weekend.

The Flying Carrots are always well represented at our road races and so it would be great if riders returned the favour and headed up to Calga on Saturday for a 50km road race. What better way to show our support by turning up and taking all the race winnings.

CCCC run grades A-D on the day and racing is an absolute bargain at $12. Please note that you must have a gold racing licence to enter.

If you are a strong B Grader at our road races, this is an opportunity to race the A Grade field at Calga.

Riders sign on from 1:30pm on the Saturday with racing starting at 2pm. The location is the same as the ATTA Calga sign on and course. So take the Peats Ridge Road exit on the M1 and then you can park on the right side of the road at the junction with Jones Road.

It is a rolling course, no long climbs more just rollers, with a slight rise on the way out and a fast trip back. An honest course.

On Sunday, NSCC host the sprinters delight of Beauie Worlds. This is a fast but safe course that has hosted many champions over the years. This year has seen the phoenix rise from the ashes and there has been increasing numbers at Beauie Worlds which has produced some great racing and plenty of sore legs.

NSCC run grades A-D and there is also a Juniors race if your children have a licence. This is a chaperoned race for the Juniors.

For the other grades they will run a multi lap course with races varying in length from 30 minutes to 55 minutes depending on your grade.

Entry for the races is $15 and you must have a gold licence to race. Racing is located on Beaumont Road, Mt Ku-Ring-Gai.

Sign on from 7:45am and racing starts just after 8am.

Nice summary of the races this weekend. If I can plug my little website http://cabici.net where I try to keep up with all the races around town. There’s an RSS feed if you want to include a listing on your site.
